Chic Modern Boho Gallery Wedding Invite Design
Simply Chic Modern Wedding Invitation Design by LBC Design Co

May is a beautiful time in Colorado. We still have to deal with chances of snow and days of spring rain, but that means everything is lush and green. Especially when the sun shines. That lush natural feeling was the inspiration for the modern bohemian gallery wedding styled shoot at Rembrandt Yard with Something Styled and Sarah Hill Photography in Boulder.

The style guide was full of ideas to bring the organic elements of spring into the gallery. It was determined early on in the planning that the color theme be a combination black and white with loads of greens and wood tones surrounding us this time of year.

Creating personal invitation details is important, even when I’m designing for an imaginary wedding celebration. Whether I’m collaborating with you and your fiancé or a team of wedding vendors understanding the needs and style of the paper elements is key the project’s success. For this shoot we decided early that the stationery would all be in black and white. When I design invites for real couples I like to know the story, style and vibe of the wedding.

There are usually one or two main inspiration points. Couples pull inspiration from the location, venue, color scheme and flowers. Others themes are inspired by a shared hobby, favorite movie, or places you have traveled to together. Often the design is a combination of styles. The layers for this wedding invitation.

This invitation is based on the venue, a bright art gallery in the heart of downtown Boulder. Like most art galleries, it has bright white walls so that all the focus is on the art. Unlike other galleries Rembrandt Yard has several huge picture windows. The space if flooded with natural light with views of the nearby foothills.

Intimate Gallery Black + White Wedding Invitation by LBC Design

The invitation design is inspired by the chic delicate nature of fresh greenery that brings the bohemian feeling to the stationery. The horizontal layout and single font in various weights matches the modern feel of the gallery. The rsvp layout has a complementary design and text orientation. The final piece of the invitation suite is one most couples are including these days, an information card (sometimes referred to as the accommodations card). The information card is full of details like hotels and your wedding website. I tend to keep a simple text layout so your guests can focus on the important logistics here, but it depends on how much info you need to share and the size card you choose. If there’s room it’s fun to continue with the graphics from the main invites.

The stationery items don’t end with the invitations. Personalize details for the day of the wedding to complete the look. Although we didn’t create a program for this shoot it’s still a popular piece of wedding stationery. Use place cards with table names with street names from the neighborhood to personalize them to your location.

Bold Red + Blush Boho Style Wedding Invitations

I always get so excited when a couple first visits the studio to talk about their wedding invitations. Listening to them describe their style and share information about all the details they are bringing together to tell their wedding story is always exciting for me!

Brittany was clear on her style from the start and had already selected some beautiful vintage pieces from our friends at Plank & Pearl for her eclectic outdoor bohemian style wedding with reds and blush pink accents. After looking over invitation samples she added rose gold foil printing as an accent for their names. As the design came together more rose foil was added to the border connecting the bold organic floral arrangements on the invitation. We pushed the bold boho style with the addition of custom calligraphy for the names and titles of the rsvp and reception cards.

  • the invitation card

  • a reception card (because the ceremony and reception were held at different locations)

  • an rsvp card and return envelope

  • an information card with recommendations about where guests should stay

  • a decorative belly band to hold the cards together

  • and the invitation envelope

Brittany looked stunning, despite the over 90-degree heat on the day of their July wedding in Golden, Colorado. Elevate Photography did a fabulous job capturing it all.

Doesn’t her look compliment the invitation perfectly? She definitely understood how all the details would come together on her wedding day and I was happy to be a part of interpreting her ideas and putting them on paper.

The wedding day stationery items included a welcome sign, bar menu and place cards for the head table. All the day-of paper used the version of the bold red floral bouquet designs, key words in custom calligraphy to keep the look on point with the invitation suite. All the elements Brittany selected came together to make for a gorgeous wedding statement personal to her and Zach.

Working with other fabulous wedding vendors makes every design project even more special! These are just a few of the vendors from Brittany + Zach’s wedding day who’s work is feature here.
