Today I'm happy to be celebrating the 3rd anniversary of one of the sweets couples I've had the opportunity to design for. The sophisticated 2013 DC wedding had a color scheme of black and white with touches of blush. Sofia knew exactly what she wanted, a black wedding invitation with white text. She even added a strong chevron pattern for the envelope liner. The piece de resistance was the black on black foil for the back side of the wedding invitation. (shown below). All perfect for their evening celebration.
This invitation is a stunner! And although it was used for a June wedding. It's the perfect style for fall and winter weddings. Here are a couple reasons why:
- It's a rich, sophisticated and dramatic look for invitations that fit perfectly into fall and winter themes.
- It's unexpected! Unlike cards printed on white paper the card stock is a solid color, front, back and all the way through.
- It cost the same as any other foil printing. In case you're not familiar with foil stamp printing it's commonly used for shiny gold and silver metallic text and graphics on invitations, but foil comes in a huge range of colors. Most likely there's a match for one or more of your wedding colors.
- Finally, you customize the look by combining the foil color with a colorful card stock to fit your wedding celebration. Think deep purple cards for fall or a charcoal grey stock for a dynamic winter weddings.
